Funeral prayers for Col (r) Amjad offered

Namaz-e-Janaza of Colonel (R) Amjad Hussain Sayed, father of Senator Mushahid Hussain, was offered at his residence.

The funeral prayers were attended by a a large number of people, including PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, PML-Q central leader Pervaiz Elahi, Azad Jammu and Kashmir former Prime Minister Sardar Atique Ahmed Khan, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani,  National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq, former Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Provincial Minister Syed Zaeem Qadri, PML-Q leader Monis Elahi, Jamaat-e-Islaami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch.

Colonel (r) Amjad Hussain Sayed was a senior officer of the Pakistan Army. He commissioned in January 1942. He was the gold medalist of the Pakistan Movement. He participated in the October 1937 session of the All India Muslim League in Lucknow and the March 1940 Lahore  session of the All India Muslim League. Born in Gujranwala, Amjad Hussain lost his parents in his infancy. Then his uncle – a leading physician, Dr Muhammad Hussain who founded Samli Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Murree and also founded Muslim Town, Lahore, to counter the Hindu elite colony of Model Town, Lahore – took Amjad Hussain to his Muslim Town home.
