Police combing operations before Eid

Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IGP Capt (r) Amin Wains ordered combing operations and mock exercises to ensure foolproof security on Eidul Fitr in the city. 

The CCPO was presiding over a meeting to ensure foolproof security on Eidul Fitr at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines, Monday. DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, DIG Investigation Ch Sultan, DIG Security Dr Moeen, Chief Traffic Officer Lahore SSP Rai Ijaz Ahmad, SSP Investigation Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, SP Anti-riots Muhammad Naveed, SP Mobiles Faisal Shahzad, SP CIA Tariq Mastoi, SP VVIP Security Fahad, all Divisional SPs, all SDPOs and SHOs were present on the occasion. 

Lahore CCPO Capt (R) Muhammad Amin Wains said every Divisional SP will conduct mock exercises and effective combing operations in which emergency exercises will be conducted in different areas. He ordered all the SPs to ensure betterment in 15 call response, time response of helping teams and quick response to tackle emergency situation during emergency exercises.  The CCPO ordered to provide category-wise foolproof security to all the important buildings. He added that foolproof security will be ensured at entry, exit points of the city and important installations also. He ordered strict action against wheelie-doing and firing in the air on Eid. He said that crime be brought to an end at the high crime ratio areas through effective patrolling, Moharrars are playing very important role in changing “thana culture” and we are conducting modern training modules for Moharrars, traditional mindset of police is changed and Lahore police from top to bottom is serving public.

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that officers and officials provided foolproof security to visitors on Youm-e-Ali, for this they deserve appreciation. He said snap checking and search operations will be conducted on regular basis in the city and all the SPs, DSPs and SHOs will take part in this event.

Chief Traffic Officer Lahore SSP Rai ijaz Ahmad said that City Traffic Police Lahore will also provide the best transport facilities like Youm-e-Ali to the citizens on Eid. A special traffic plan has been set to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Officers and traffic wardens will perform duties. CTO appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic wardens on Eid the way they are cooperating during Ramazan. 

found dead: A 22-year-old man was found dead in the Garhi Shahu police limits on Monday.  Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The victim has been identified as Intezar Mehdi of Ali Pur. He served as a watchman in Railway Quarters. On the day of incident, he was found dead at his workplace. Police after being informed reached the scene and collected evidence. Investigations are under way to ascertain the cause of the death.
