Shujaat for improving ties with Afghanistan
LAHORE
Pakistan Muslim League-Q president and former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has said Pakistan should not make Afghanistan and Iran a matter of honour and dishonour.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ch Shujaat Hussain maintained that the prime minister should have gone there and held detailed meetings with foreign ministers of both the countries. The prime minister should not consider himself as the prime minister but as the foreign minister should try to set the things right, he said.
He said two months back he had warned that in charge foreign affairs should himself go to Afghanistan and hold talks with President Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah for improving the situation.
“Such time should not come that the ball slips out of hands then it will not be of any benefit.
Now the news has come that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has refused to come to Pakistan. Despite this I will say immediately Nawaz Sharif should reach Afghanistan without being invited like he calls Modi immediately, and for the country’s sake he should not make it a matter of his ego,” he said, adding if circumstances with Afghanistan get worse then these be worst than India as well. He said suicide attacks in Iran are a matter of great concern.
