‘Chaudhrys conspiring against democracy’

LAHORE: Punjab government spokesman Zaeem Qadri has said the Chaudhry Brothers who supported a dictator are hatching conspiracies against democracy and making futile efforts for keeping themselves alive politically through false statements.
He said corruption was rampant during Pervaiz Elahi era and the PML-N Punjab government completed incomplete projects of Pervaiz Elahi. Commenting on the statement of Ch Shujaat Hussain in a statement issued on Tuesday, Zaeem Qadri said it does not behove to those talking about public service, who made Bank of Punjab bankrupt. He said everyone is aware of corruption committed during Pervaiz Elahi tenure and that the Ch Brothers should give account of loot and plunder of billions of rupees committed in Punjab Bank, NICL and other development projects. Zaeem Qadri said people did not forget the loot and corruption of Pervaiz Elahi era. He said Lahore-Kasur Road, Thokar Niaz Baig Overhead Bridge and other development projects were the graveyards of corruption of Pervaiz Elahi era.
Zaeem Qadri said the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has completed a number of public welfare projects. He said the era of Shahbaz Sharif is proof of transparency and merit and foreign institutions have acknowledged it.
