Sir Syed Memorial Society caretaker appointed

Under the kind guidance of chief commissioner Islamabad Zulfiqar Haider, Registrar Societies, Muhammad Ali and Assistant Commissioner ICT Hassan Waqar Cheema, keeping in view of the best administrative abilities of Tariq Mahmood have decided to appoint him as caretaker of the society. Tariq Mahmood is a retired grade 20 officer from influential Government organization. He has a vast experience of Administration and official affairs. After taking the charge of his new responsibilities, while dressing the employees of Society he has assured to take forward the mission of Society. He emphasised that the Society shall be again make to work. Very soon the society will work on its mandate and achieved its lost prestige. Tariq Mehmood has assured the employees that no injustice shall be done to them all matters will be handled according to merit. He further said that all employees shall as a team and shall contribute for the development of society sincerely.
Lok Virsa introduces four months music course
Islamabad: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) has introduced a four-month music course to promote folk music of country. An official told APP that after Eid, Lok Virsa would announce to organise classes for the new talent. He said that the willing persons could register now to get an opportunity of music learning. During the course, coaching in various musical instruments like Rubab, Bansuri and Harmonium would be offered. In addition basic classes in singing would be part of the program.
Vacation from June 5

Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Monday announced the summer vacations for the public sector schools and colleges of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) from June 5 to August 6. Talking to APP Monday, Director General FDE, Dr Hasnat Qureshi said there were some suggestions to close the educational institutions before start of the holy month of Ramazan but it was not possible. Therefore, he said the summer vacations would be started from June 5 so that the course could be completed. The schools would be opened after vacations on August 6 for the preparations of Independence Day celebrations to be held on August 14, he added.
