A city without power
Residents of Karachi are facing the problem of unannounced loadshedding. Almost every area of the city is engulfed in darkness. This year, Karachi is likely to witness the worst heatwave. It is shameful that KE has failed to provide electricity to citizens. Two years back, around 1,000 people died because of heatwave. One of the reasons that contributed to their sufferings was intermittent loadshedding. It is the responsibility of the government to resolve the city’s energy crisis. The schedule of loadshedding has extended from 8-10 to 12-14 hours. Both commercial and industrial areas are badly affected by loadshedding. Unfortunately the city of lights has turned into the city of darkness
The concerned authorities must look into this serious matter. The government must resolve this issue and find out ways to generate electricity so that the energy crisis can be easily tackled.
