A a batch of 329 ex-servicemen completed training on Friday and were inducted into the Special Protection Unit of the Sindh Police for formerly assuming security duties pertaining to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
These former army men will be part of the special contingent of the police force to protect projects and installations in the province related to the CPEC.
In this regard, a simple ceremony was held where the chief guest was Rapid Response Force DIG Ameen Yousufzai.
DIG Ameen informed the audience that earlier 1,020 police personnel under the Special Security Unit were performing security duties in the province for the CPEC projects.
After the fresh inductions, the number of such personnel for had increased to 1,349. In the latest stage, the number of personnel in the Special Protection Unit would be increased to 2,660 personnel.
