‘No success in war on terror without Pakistan’
MULTAN: Former PM and PPP senior leader Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said both Pakistan and US have consensus on different issues, including terrorism. He was talking to journalists after the visit of US Consul General in Lahore Yuriy Fedkiw at his residence on Wednesday.
The former premier said that Pakistan had a long partnership with the US. He said that Pakistan had killed several high-valued targets in collaboration with the US while fighting against terrorism.
Majority of the people think that the US and Pakistan perceptions on various issues were opposite, he added. He said that the US must appreciate the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan during the war against terrorism.
Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the PPP government during its last tenure rehabilitated 2.5 million homeless people after the Swat operation in KP in 90 days when he was the PM. Responding to a query on the PPP politics, he said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was busy in party reorganisation and he was holding the party’s meetings in every district on daily basis to complete democratic electoral process in the party. Earlier, US Consul General in Lahore Yuriy Fedkiw along with the USAID country director reached Multan from Lahore and visited the shrine of Hazrat Musa Pak along with Yousaf Raza Gilani and laid Chadar on the grave.
