Islamabad: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has demanded of the Municipal Corporation of
Islamabad (MCI) and the district administration to announce a relief package for residents of the federal capital for the holy month of Ramazan.

Addressing a press conference here, Jamaat-e-Islami central Naib Ameer and former MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam said there should be 30% reduction in rates of essential commodities while the MCI and district administration should also ensure price control in the market.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said there should also be a code of conduct particularly during the holy month according to which all the objectionable signboards and hoardings erect elsewhere in the federal capital be removed and replaced with boards bearing verses of Holy Quraan with translation and messages of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and other holy personalities.

He said the government should also make special security arrangements for mosques and Imam Bargahs during the month of Ramazan. "It is responsibility of the Government to provide every possible relief to masses during the month of Ramadan while traders should also feel their responsibility towards common man," he said.
