ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has once again rejected Pakistan’s plea for increasing the  quota.

Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf had requested the Saudi haj ministry last week for an increase in the Haj quota. According to a private TV channel, the Ministry of Religious Affairs had requested that the Haj quota be enhanced for Pakistan because of increase in its population.

The Saudi Haj Ministry, while rejecting the application, took the plea that census in Pakistan is now underway and is not completed yet; therefore, it is difficult to evaluate how much population has increased in Pakistan. It can be considered after completion of the census that how much Haj quota can be increased, it said.
