Power theft can stop if Sindh govt cooperates: Hesco official
NAWABSHAH: Superintendent Engineer of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) Nawabshah Circle Malik Imtiazul Haque claimed that loadshedding and power theft could be stopped if the Sindh government and police would cooperate in this regard. Malik said that he was attacked in Sanghar on taking steps to stop power theft.
He was talking to media in the Peoples Medical Hospital here on Wednesday. He said that police was not arresting the attackers despite the registration of FIR under the Terrorist Act in Sanghar. He said that on the contrary a fake FIR by Sanghar lawyer was lodged against him (Malik Imtiaz), Executive Engineer Hesco Sanghar Ameer Memon and SDO Fayyaz Ahmed Naich.
He said that fake FIRs were being registered against Hesco employees. Malik Imtiaz said that he was representative of the federal government in Grade-19. He said that, on one hand, the Sindh government was organising protests and sit-ins against loadshedding, while on the other hand, people who engage in power theft were enjoying police protection.
Malik Imtiaz pleaded Federal Power and Water Minister Abid Sher Ali, Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for providing protection and Rangers’ security to them.
