8,255 acres allotted for water project

The Karachi commissioner has allotted 8,255 acres for the K-IV water project and a notification has been issued in this regard, said a statement on Wednesday.
Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said the project would meet the city’s water needs, adding that he had worked on the project on priority basis in accordance with the directives of the government and for the betterment of the people.
Siddiqui said he had made the allotment of land possible in a short time after completing all the legal formalities.
He said the foundation stone of the project had been laid with the allotment of the land.
He expressed the hope that the authorities concerned would expedite the work for completing the project.
