Minister warns schools
Punjab School Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad has warned private schools of action for forcing students to pay summer vacation fee in one go.
He also warned that action would also be taken against private schools for annual fee-hike in contravention of percentage increase fixed by the government. Rana Mashhood said this in a meeting with the delegation of private schools’ representatives at Children’s Library Complex here on Saturday. Special Secretary Schools Education Rana Hassan Akhtar and Chief Executive of Education Authority, Lahore, Tariq Rafique were also present.
The minister said private schools would get approval of the district education authority concerned before increasing fee annually. Similarly, students would not be forced to buy course books and school uniform from the schools, and parents were free to buy books and school uniform from the open market. —Correspondent
