PM visits Layyah today
Will make certain announcements for welfare of agriculturists
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the workers of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) today (Tuesday) in the southern Punjab city Layyah as part of his campaign to review development projects and contact the people.
It will be his second such meeting with his party workers and leaders in less than a week in the wake of recent major political developments. The prime minister who had his first interaction with the people of central Punjab city Okara on Saturday where he delivered the message of rejection through a massive public gathering to the demand made by his arch rival PTI’s leader regarding his stepping down in the wake of the apex court’s verdict, is likely to spell out the projects for the area at the district headquarter of Layyah including provision of water, natural gas and elimination of backwardness. It is also expected that the premier will address the demand for converting Layyah into a divisional headquarter.
The sources said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would accord emphasis on the developmental activities rather than talking of the political issues especially the criticism made by his detractors. He will also review the agricultural yield and relevant issues in the area and make certain announcements for the welfare of the agriculturists.
The sources said that some federal ministers will also accompany the prime minister in his whirlwind visit of the area. Workers and leaders of the PML-N, members of the provincial and National Assembly of the area will also have meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz on the occasion, the sources added.
