The growth of coaching centres in Karachi has taken an entirely new turn. Students, in large numbers, prefer going to coaching centres than to a government college. It has also been observed that well-qualified, experienced and long-serving faculties belonging to the prestigious and academically distinctive education institutes have now begun to set up their individual institutes. They charge high fees from students and promise to prepare them for exams. This situation isn’t really in favour of students and education institutions. The education sector is already in shambles. State-owned education institutions display a sad picture of mismanagement. With no option left, students turn to these private ventures which are just another source of making lucrative profits.
Another nuisance created by these centres is the traffic congestion. These centres are opened in bungalows in residential areas. This disturbs the vehicular traffic. In order to ensure quality education, these private ventures should be closed down. The government should strengthen state-owned education institutions so that students and their parents don’t look for other options to prepare for exams.
