Woman tortured to death by nephews

LAHORE

A 40-year-old woman was tortured to death allegedly by her nephews in Factory Area on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Kausar Bibi of Chungi Amarsadhu. Police said that the accused identified as Shahzad and Azhad had subjected the victim to severe torture over a domestic issue, resulting in her death. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

Addressing Members of National and Punjab Assemblies at Qurban Lines on Saturday, he said that it was the responsibility of Lahore police to provide justice on the doorsteps of citizens with the cooperation of public representatives.

He said that if public representatives and citizens stopped allowing strangers to live in their locality, it would be helpful in uprooting terrorism. He said that Lahore police had made public representatives a voice of the people through the Local Eye software.
