PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Friday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led coalition government maintained strict financial discipline and stopped the misuse of resources.
A handout said he was talking to different delegations of PTI workers which called on him at the Chief Minister’s House here. He said the provincial government discouraged corruption and irregularities and ensured judicious distribution of resources.
“We upheld the rule of law and promoted merit-based decision,” he said, adding his government facilitated the change that PTI had promised to the people. Pervez Khattak said the KP government carried out record legislation and brought reforms to install a system having inbuilt mechanism for delivery.
These steps, he added, changed the perception of the people and they started realizing that PTI was on the right track to develop the province. The chief minister said the change of system in the province should not be seen as a mere change of guards. He said the legal cover would ensure consistency of the system.
Pervez Khattak asked the people to personally safeguard the changed system as it was a transparent and open one and protected the rights of the people. He said that it was because of this system that brain drain was reversed and the highly skilled and educated people were coming back to the province.
The chief minister also talked about the health and education sector reforms
and the increased salaries and up-gradation of posts. He said these steps were a must for improved delivery system.
