Pakistan’s famed left-arm fast bowler, Wasim Akram, has said he would be attending the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Huqooq-e-Karachi rally scheduled for April 30.
Formally invited by PTI leader Ali Zaidi at a meeting on Wednesday, Akram said he would surely attend the rally as his heart pained for the city in which he was born and brought up.
Zaidi also confirmed that the renowned cricketer would be attending the march and participating alongside the party leaders to raise his concerns for Karachi.
We have been raising our voice about the solid waste disposal system, scarcity
of water, load-shedding
and urgent need of a
mass transit system for the city, but it seems the government has stopped paying attention to our protests, observed the party’s Karachi president Firdous Shamim Naqvi.
“This is why we are taking to the streets; to spread our message to the public.”
PTI MNA Asad Umer and Zaidi distributed pamphlets and hands bills in Landhi, PIB and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas to muster support for the party’s rally. The rally would be led by the party chief, Imran Khan.
