Three shot dead over monetary, property disputes

Three persons were shot dead in two different parts of the provincial metropolis on Sunday.
Two persons were killed in crossfire between two groups in Chamra Mandi, Misri Shah, following a monetary issue. The victims were identified as Ahsan and Riaz Gujjar belonging to each party. Two persons also received wounds in the incident, who were admitted to a local hospital. Police said that both parties had an exchange of fire over a monetary issue.
Yet in another incident, a man gunned down a maternal uncle of his wife in the Liaqatabad area, following a property issue. The victim was identified as Abdul Razzaq. Police shifted the bodies to morgue for autopsies.
Meanwhile, a man shot and wounded his wife in the Nishtar Colony area. The injured woman identified as Salma Bibi was admitted to a local hospital where her condition was said to be critical.
Kite string injures girl: The hazardous kite string badly cut the face of an eleven-year-old girl in Bhagatpura Shadbagh on Sunday.
The girl identified as Fakhra was on her way along with her father on a bike when a stray kite string cut her face. The injured girl was rushed to a local hospital where her condition was said to be critical.
Robberies: Robbers deprived citizens of their valuables including cash and gold ornaments and vehicle worth millions of rupees here on Sunday.
Robbers looted valuables worth Rs 8 lakhs from the house of Madani in Chung, Rs 60,000 from the shop of Khurram in Shahdara, cash and calling cards worth Rs 45,000 from the shop of Adnan in Mughalpura, Rs 315,000 from Rehman in Iqbal Town, Rs 170,000 from Raza in Shera Kot, Rs 1 lakh from Amanat in Defence B, Rs 80,000 from Sheraz in Johar Town, Rs 53,000 from Tariq in Samanabad, and valuables worth Rs 40,000 from Maryam in Nawab Town.
Two cars were lifted from the areas of Township and Sarwar Road. Four bikes were stolen from the areas of Shadbagh, Gawalmandi, Sanda and Township.
Fire: Household items worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in a house in Faisal Park Shahdara on Sunday.
Cause of fire was said to be short circuit. Yet in another incident, fire broke out in a shop in Moti Bazar Shahdara due to short circuit. Upon being informed, the firefighters rushed to the spots and extinguished fire after hectic efforts. No casualty was reported in the said incidents.
