Public divided on SC ruling in Panama case
Islamabad
The general public has given mixed reaction on the decision by the Supreme Court regarding Panama issue on Thursday. Majority of people has strongly appreciated Supreme Court decision which ordered further investigations into corruption allegations against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and saying there was insufficient evidence to order his removal from the office while others termed the celebrations of PML-N workers as pre-mature as 60 days sword is still hanging on ruling party.
The PML-N leaders and workers distributed sweets among each other and started celebrations after Supreme Court decision raised full throated slogans in favour of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Raja Amir Iqbal strongly appreciated Supreme Court decision regarding formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for further investigation in Panama case. The honourable Judges of Supreme Court have given a historical decision on Panama issue. Judges have not taken any pressure in this issue, he said. He said that all parties like PTI and JI should accept Supreme Court decision.
Mukhtar Ahmed Abbasi, a senior citizen said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should step down from his seat because two honourable judges of Supreme Court Justice Asif Saeed and Justice Gulzar strongly opposed formation of JIT and ordered to de-notify Nawaz Sharif. The other three judges have also not given ‘Clean Chit’ of Nawaz Sharif in Panama case. He said that celebrations of PML-N workers are pre-mature because Panama issue is continuing.
Shaukat Hussain strongly appreciated Supreme Court decision and said that country is continuously developing in every field. The apex court has ordered to form JIT for further investigation but Nawaz Sharif will take clean chit after 60 days investigation. The PML-N government will win in upcoming general elections as they showed performance in the country, he claimed.
Sana Rehan, a working lady from Tench Bhatta strongly appreciated Supreme Court decision and said that Sharif family should prove their innocence in 60 days otherwise they will face the music. She also said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should morally step down for two months till clean chit is given to him because two honourable judges have given strong remarks against the sitting prime minister.
Justice (r) Wajihuddin strongly appreciated Supreme Court decision said that Nawaz Sharif should morally resign if he wanted to protect his political future.
Norin Bashir, a working lady strongly criticised Supreme Court decision and said that Sharif Family failed to give the answers of seven questions asked by honourable judges. Similarly, two senior judges are not convinced that Nawaz Sharif is innocent while three judges did not oppose the thinking of two senior judges. Supreme Court should give a clear decision either to provide clean chit of PM or disqualify him in Panama case, she said.
