KARACHI: Karachi witnessed another heatwave in the first week of April this year when temperature remained above 40°C for four to five consecutive days, Pakistan Meteorological Department Director General Ghulam Rasool informed ‘The News’ on Wednesday. He further added that now the plains in the central parts of the country were witnessing an extreme heatwave.Experts say a heatwave is an extended period of hot weather relative to the expected conditions of the area at that time of year. Currently, the central parts of the country are undergoing an extreme spell of hot and dry weather which is unusual in this period of the year.
