Protest movement against PPP Chaklala Cantonment body
Rawalpindi
Pakistan People’s Party’s activists from Rawalpindi/ Chaklala Cantonment have decided to launch a protest movement against newly announced PPP body of Rawalpindi/Chaklala Cantonment and formed an eighteen-member action committee headed by a senior local leader Malik Mohammad Siddique to chalk out strategy of protest movement.
Action committee will finalise the protest strategy within a couple of days which include symbolically hanging the workers on wooden cross, protest rallies, public meetings and other modes of protests.
This decision was taken in a special meeting of 30 member’s consultative council’s meeting held here in PPP Secretariat Amn House, Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi, which was attended by Malik Javed Iqbal Advocate, Gul Bahadur Khan, Ejaz Hussain Butt, Shakeel Awan, Majid Malik, Malik Mazhar Javed, Gulnaz Badshah and other members of the council.
Participants of the meeting expressed grave concern over what they said the new body of PPP Rawalpindi/Chaklala Cantonment was made against the will of workers and no worker was taken into confidence while announcing the new office-bearers of Rawalpindi/Chaklala Cantonment. They said that they had submitted their concerns to the decision makers but owing to no response yet, they have no choice to start a protest movement against the decision taken sans the will of workers.
The meeting lasted for 5 hours and expressed serious concerns and worries on setting aside the real workers while taking decision about the re-structuring of local body of PPP. Participants of the meeting said that they would not accept any “pocket body” at any cost and take out protest rallies, public meetings and adopt all possible ways and means to save party from indoor conspiracies. “Bhuttos never overlook and supervise workers against their will and so is the line of present top leadership including Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari but some opportunists, who have the direct approach to the top leadership, are keeping the party heads in dark”, they added saying “Newly appointed office-bearers of Rawalpindi/Chaklala Cantonmen have no link with real workers and they were given power against the will of workers which will harm the party very badly”. They resolved that they would not allow any opportunists to supersede real workers and block the ways of such freebooters and opportunists who are damaging the party.
Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan also spoke on this occasion and thanked all workers for posing full confidence in him. He said that he was not a candidate of any office for Rawalpindi/Chaklala Cantonment but will stand with the workers. He also appreciated the efforts of senior workers to strengthen the party. He also said the opportunists are using the name of chairman Bilawal Bhutto for these appointments wrongly.
