DAGGAR: The All Primary Teachers Association on Tuesday opposed government policy allowing teachers to carry arms on school premises.
Speaking at a meeting, the association’s president Akbar Ali Bacha said the government was duty bound to protect the schools.“The teachers are supposed to impart education. Allowing them to carry weapons will have a bad impact on the students,” he maintained.
Chairman Meraj Ali Shah, general secretary Khalid Seemab and others attended the meeting.About the participation of the teachers in the anti-polio campaign, he said teachers had been hired to teach the students. He urged the government to implement the service structure of the teachers and give them other incentives.
