PM diagnosed with kidney stone, no surgery needed
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whose kidney has deposit of small stone would not go abroad for treatment as he will get the treatment in the country by Pakistani doctors.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her 21 words tweet reminded on Saturday evening that “As opposed to the sensational news on media, PM is Alhamdolillah fine. Diagnosed with small kidney stone that doesn’t need any intervention.”
No official communication has been issued about the health of Nawaz Sharif by the Prime Minister’s House since it wasn’t required. The prime minister, who had a busy schedule here on Friday with five back-to-back meetings including three pertaining to review of development activities, left for Lahore in the evening.
According to sources, he developed minor pain in his abdomen in the noon on the following day when he was attending his elderly mother at his Lahore residence. The prime minister without caring for his security and protocol visited a private hospital in Gulberg, Lahore, and got examined. The doctors declared him absolutely fit and reported that he has small splinter of stone in his right kidney, a normal phenomenon at this age.
He may be advised for a brief rest so that the problem could be addressed through hydrotherapy, the sources hinted.
As the news appeared on the most popular TV network Geo on Saturday afternoon, a political party on the social media created havoc through baseless rumours and obnoxious comments, which were castigated by the sources concerned and proved ultimately unfounded.
