Ambulances donated to LGH

LAHORE

A renowned bakery chain has donated two air-conditioned ambulances to Lahore General Hospital to transport dead bodies to other cities of the country free of cost.

The same philanthropist company would also provide shrouds for the bodies of poor people. The company has promised to provide two more such ambulances to LGH in near future. On the occasion of handover of the ambulances to LGH administration, a function was held which was attended by Prof Ghiyas un Nabi Tayyab, pincipal of PGMI and LGH, LGH MS Dr Ghulam Sabir, General Manger of the donor company, Muneer Ahmed, and others. Prof Tayyab said that this ambulance service would be available from Lahore to all parts of Pakistan. He said that Pakistanis were matchless throughout the world regarding donating to the poor. He said private ambulance owners were receiving heavy charges for transportation of bodies. In this situation, the company has taken a great step, he added.

The GM of the company said that all the expense of wear and tear, fuel and salary of drivers would be borne by the company and the hospital administration would be authorised to provided the free service only to deserving people.

Cleanliness: Albayrak Waste Management Company has carried out its weekly cleanliness awareness campaign on College Road, UC-133 here on Thursday. The campaign was carried out to sensitise the residents about proper waste management. For this purpose, the communication team of Albayrak set up an awareness camp on the road, officials said, adding that UC Chairman Ishtiaq Saifi along with Albayrak team distributed pamphlets among the natives of the area.
