NCP vehicles
MINGORA: The district council on Wednesday rejected the procedure for registration of non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles and demanded the government through a resolution to transfer the powers of registration of the vehicles to the district government.
A councillor belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami Sanaullah Bacha moved the resolution, which was passed unanimously by the council after heated debate over the present procedure for registration of NCP vehicles.
Swat District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah said the government had ignored the district council in the registration of NCP vehicles and rejected the process. The councillors criticised the procedure for registration of NCP vehicles and demanded handing over the matter to the district council. It also demanded inclusion of locally assembled vehicles in the registration process. The councillor also criticised the non-cooperation of officials of line departments and their absence from the council proceedings.
District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah directed the officials of government departments to cooperate with the council members for solution of the problems and warned to stop salaries of the officials if they failed to cooperate with the councilors.
