MoU signed on agriculture, livestock
LAHORE
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore and Oaks CAF Lahore, a Korean company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in research, value addition, training and marketing activities.
According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, UVAS Vice Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and Oaks CAF Chief Executive Ms Seo Jung Oak signed the MoU at the UVAS City Campus, Lahore.
Under the MoU, Oaks will cultivate crops on the farm land for value addition, develop funding/grant proposals, coordinate research with UVAS, Korean research bodies/other universities, develop vertical value chains and work for capacity building of the farmer community.
The UVAS will facilitate Oaks`s CAF for agricultural, livestock value addition and marketingactivities and provide intellectual input for the value-added production of commodities. The university will also collaborate in research and publications with other research organisations in Pakistan and elsewhere.
spring festival: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore in connection with Spring Festival 2017 arranged debate, photography, short film, dub mash, bait bazi, UVAS hunt 2017 and Deewar-e-Aagaahi competitions here on Wednesday in City Campus, Lahore. Students from various departments participated in these competitions.
According to a press release issued here, in Urdu serious and funny debate competitions, Maham Zahra (DND), Ali (DVM) won 1st position while in English serious & humorous debate competitions, Salwa (IPS) and Jaweria (IBBT) won 1st position.
In UVAS Hunt 2017 contest, team of DVM 3rd year won 1st position, DND got 2nd position while (IBBT) stood on 3rd position. In photography competition, Saad (IBBT) won 1st position, Aun (IBBT) got 2nd position while Sajjad stood on 3rd position. In short film competition, Ali from (MBA) won 1st position.
In dub mash competition, Institute of Bio-Chemistry & Bio-Technology (IBBT) team won 1st position. In Deewar-e-Aagaahi competition, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) team won first position. UVAS senior tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf distributed shields among the all winners.
FAREWELL: A farewell party was arranged in DIG Office on Wednesday in honour of eight officers and officials who have retired.Addressing on the occasion, CCPO paid rich tributes to the services of the retired police officers and officials, including an inspector, a head-constable, four constables, an assistant director and another official.
DIG Investigation Punjab, DIG Operations Lahore and other senior officers also spoke on this occasion.
