CM says KP govt committed to ensuring merit

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the provincial government discouraged political interference in public sector bodies.

Addressing the participants of 30th PAF Air War Course led by Air Commodore Hussain Ahmad at Chief Minister's House, he said the provincial government made record legislations to ensure merit-based decisions in the governance system.

Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, Secretary Home Shakeel Qadir, Secretary P&D Shahab Ali and others attended the event. The participants were given a detailed presentation on the reforms agenda of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Responding to a question regarding the 'Billion Tree Tsunami' Campaign, Pervez Khattak said it was a revolutionary drive and one among the three best tree plantation drives at international level. "We succeeded in planting 800 million saplings in the province," he added. To another question, the chief minister said that his government introduced 'Sehat Insaf Cards, covering 1800,000 lakh families to be provided free healthcare up to Rs500,000 annually.
