Roots International Schools (RIS), Wellington Campus arranged ‘Healthy Breakfast’ activity under the umbrella of ‘Health and Nutrition Awareness Programme,’ says a press release.
The students of Prep-I and II of International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and Lower Secondary Programme participated in the activity. The purpose of Healthy Breakfast was to create awareness of healthy eating in students.
RIS is the first school in Pakistan to introduce Health and Nutrition Awareness Programme, as it realises the importance of healthy diet and has been educating children the importance of balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, providing healthy and nutritious food choices and giving consistent health messages.
“Healthy bodies ensure healthy brains and Roots International has always made sure that our students understand the importance of basic lifestyle choices. The purpose of Health and Nutrition Awareness programme and this particular activity was to make sure that students realize the importance of utilizing food from different sources instead of just relying on junk and fast food” said Naila Shahid, Coordinator IB Primary Years and Lower Secondary Programme, on the occasion.
