Aisam, Petzschner reach Abierto Mexicano Open semis

KARACHI: Pakistan’s top squash player Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his German partner Philipp Petzschner entered the semi-finals of Abierto Mexicano Open at Acapulco, Mexico, on Friday.
The unseeded pair of Aisam and Philipp, ranked 35th and 169th, respectively, defeated the wildcard pair of Santiago Gonzalez from Mexico and David Marrero from Spain 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
Earlier, they had defeated the unseeded Columbian pair of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in the first round of this ATP-500 championship.
Now the two will face the top seed pair of Jamie Murray from Great Britain and Bruno Soares from Brazil, ranked 7th and 8th, respectively, in the semi-finals.
