CM welcomes Chinese help in horticulture promotion

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that assistance of Chinese company in promotion of horticulture would be highly welcomed which would transfer not only technology but train our people as well.
Different places regarding elevation of horticulture and landscaping were reviewed in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday.
According to a handout, senior officials of renowned Chinese Horticulture Company Beijing Florascape attended the meeting and agreed on extending cooperation to the Punjab government for promotion of Horticulture.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said the Punjab government was vigilant and taking effective steps for upholding horticulture and making mega cities as well as development projects eye-catching through it. He vowed that a comprehensive agreement would be made with Chinese company soon to benefit from its experience and expertise and a delegation of experts from nine divisions would be sent to China in this regard. He said that Landfill Sites at Lahore would be designed according to Beijing’s Landfill Site and assistance of Chinese company in this regard would be highly welcomed which would transfer not only technology but train our people as well.
He said the Punjab government was working on the founding project of Institute of Horticulture.
He also directed to pace up the project. He said that Pakistan and China enjoyed a strong bond of friendship which was getting stronger. The Chinese officials on this occasion said they were looking forward to work with the Punjab government for promotion of horticulture and would provide every needed technical and moral support to it.
Civil Defence: Shahbaz Sharif has said that Civil Defence institute plays a vital role in saving people in war and peace and fulfills the responsibility lies with it.
He said Civil Defence is a well-organised institute which works for enhancing power and capacity building of nation during war and peace.
In his message on World Civil Defence Day, the chief minister said Civil Defence officials takes all those steps which hinder enemies to achieve their targets during their attack.
It actually includes such activities of government which arm people with every needful precautionary step as will help them during earthquake and other natural calamities to form safe society.
He said that in order to minimise the loss of life and property of citizens, civil defence institute plays a vital role and fulfills the responsibility of saving people in war and peace.
