Problems in Karachi

By our correspondents
February 28, 2017

Almost all big cities across the world have a large number of parks. People visit these places for a walk or they take their children there so that they can be involved in physical activities. However, in Karachi, there is an insufficient number of parks. This is why children play on roads. This is dangerous because of heavy flow of traffic. In order to fetch a ball, children cross roads carelessly. This often leads to fatal accidents.

What is required is the construction of sufficient number of parks across the city so that women, children and the elderly can have a peaceful time away from the hustle bustle of the city. Children can play freely in parks without any danger of getting hit by a speeding vehicle. It is hoped that the concerned department will take notice of the matter.

This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the growing problem of the water shortage in Karachi. For the last few days, residents of Ayesha Manzil have been facing the irregular water supply. The supply of water is carried out only three days a week. It is available for only an hour. Almost all residents turn on their electric motor to pump water because of which the flow of water turns slower.

Former complaints have been lodged but no action has been taken so far. The concerned department only comes up with one excuse after the other. It seems that the department is not aware of the gravity of the situation. Water is the basic need of the people and the water shortage disrupts the daily routine of the people. It is hoped that the higher authorities will take immediate action and put an end to this misery.
