Islamabad: The International Islamic University (IIU) has been placed in the 'W' category by the Quality Assurance Agency of the Higher Education Commission.
According to a letter issued by the HEC, the 'internal quality' of the IIU was assessed through a score card system in which the university attained 87.67 per cent marks and was placed in the 'W' category.
It is the highest score so for obtained by the IIU since the establishment of its QEC. The HEC has appreciated the efforts of IIU rector Prof Masoom Yasinzai and president Prof Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh, and the performance of the university's QEC.
Both the rector and president thanked the HEC for continuous support to the degree awarding institutions to improve quality of education at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Meanwhile, IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh said the cooperation of the HEC was commendable, while university is not only focusing on Islamic specialisations but also on scientific disciplines with an emphasis to produce youth having Islamic knowledge and contemporary education.
