QAU central library given Quaid’s portrait

In continuation of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations (1967-2017) of the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), the Department of Anthropology of the university on Wednesday presented a portrait of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to the central library on campus.

Vice Chancellor Professor Javed Ashraf along with in-charge of the Department of Anthropology Dr. Waheed Chaudhry presented the souvenir to Chief Librarian Anwar Ejaz.

The portrait was sketched by artist Waqas Ahmad Shaiq, who generously offered his master piece for the permanent display in the central library of the university.

Waqas Ahmad Shaiq was also presented a shield of honor to commemorate his philanthropic gestures for QAU on 50 years of celebrations.

Sajjad Haider, Fieldwork Supervisor in the Department of Anthropology, coordinated this project.  A large number of students along with faculty members attended the ceremony and appreciated the mastery of artist in sketching.

Vice chancellor, in-charge department of Anthropology and the chief librarian appreciated the artist for his generous donation to Quaid-i-Azam University and thanked the Department of Anthropology for active participation in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the university.
