SHO to face probe for ‘fake’ case

MARDAN: District Police Officer (DPO) of Mardan Mian Saeed Ahmed on Tuesday ordered an inquiry against the station house officer (SHO) of Takht Bhai Police Station for registering a fake case against a student for stealing, sources said.
The sources added that on February 5 Majid Khan belonging to Mardan and a student of MPhil at a private university and his relatives staged protest outside the Mardan Press Club against the SHO Takht Bhai Police Station Mohammad Riaz Khan for registering a fake case against him.
The DPO took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry against the SHO. He tasked Superintendent of Police (SP) (Operation) Abdul Rauf Babar to probe the matter as an inquiry officer.
