Lawyers demand adequate security at courts
For the second time since the Sehwan attack, the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) and the Sindh Bar Council in a meeting held on Monday demanded adequate security measures at all court premises.
In a general body meeting, SHCBA’s secretary Kashif Paracha said security being provided to SHC lawyers and the judges was not enough.
Former president of the body, Abrar Hasan, said terrorists wanted to destabilise the country by targeting important institutions including the judiciary.
The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) also held a press conference over the matter to demand foolproof security for lawyers as well as citizens. The lawyer’s body called for the arrest of all those carrying out terrorist incidents including the attackers of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine in Sehwan.
SBC members demanded the government to improve law and order, ensure safety and security of the citizens. The body’s members observed that both the federal and provincial governments failed to protect the country’s citizens.
