PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday visited various educational institutions in the city to review security arrangements.
According to a handout, education ministers and other high-ups accompanied him. He mixed up with students and teachers in the classrooms and discussed security and educational matters with them.
The chief minister issued on the spot directives to the authorities concerned for improving certain security and syllabus related affairs. The students of Government Higher Secondary Schools Peshawar Cantt, Centennial Model High School Peshawar City and Frontier College for Women were happy with the arrival of the chief minister. They said though extraordinary security arrangements were being made at their schools and colleges, but they did not feel insecure or scared. The teachers said there was extraordinary attendance of students in the educational institutions and their morale was high.
Pervez Khattak eulogised the high spirits of the students and teachers However, he said that the nation was ready to fight the terrorists and defeat them. The chief minister said that Pakistan Tehreek Insaf Chairman Imran Khan wanted to visit the Army Public School and College in Peshawar along with his wife Reham Khan, but postponed the visit due to early closing of the school.
To a question, the chief minister said there was no lack of funds for the security of educational institutions. The chief minister said the management of the educational institutions would not be allowed to raise fee on the pretext to enhanced security.
