Huzaifa moves into US Junior Open second round
KARACHI: Pakistan’s Huzaifa Ibrahim moved into the third round of US Junior Open in US on Sunday.
After getting bye in the first round of under-13 category, Huzaifa defeated W Santoro 11-4, 11-2, 11-8 in the second round.
He will face M Ayaz in the third round.
Huzaifa recently lost in the finals of Redtone 10th KL Junior Squash Open in Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier, he had lost in the first round of Marigold Singapore Open in Singapore.
“Huzaifa is doing his best in under-13 age category although he is an under-11 player,” said Huzaifa’s coach Osama Khan while talking to ‘The News’ from US. “I have confidence that he will learn a lot and win events in this category as well,” he added.
“He is to participate in a few local events here and then an exhibition match before returning to Pakistan on January 24,” said Osama, claiming that Huzaifa had impressed many local players and coaches with his performance.
