Aircraft tragedy

By our correspondents
December 09, 2016

Only three months after the Landhi train carnage, a PIA flight crashed near Havellian. The ill-fated flight had 48 passengers onboard. According to the media reports, there are no survivors. Back in September, the Landhi train accident left over 20 people dead and several injured. Yesterday (Dec 7), the plane crashed on its way to Islamabad.

The ill-fated flight took off from Chitral and was supposed to land at the Islamabad airport. Renowned Naat-Khwan Junaid Jamshed and his wife were among the 48 people on board. Owing to his death, Pakistan has lost a melodious voice. The government of the country is requested to constitute a permanent team which should be tasked to inspect the fleet of aircrafts on a regular basis. Safety measures should be adopted by the government and the aviation authority so that no such tragic incident happens again.

The shocking incident of the Havellian plane crash has shaken the country to its core. The unfortunate incident claimed more than 40 lives. According to the initial reports, one of the engines wasn’t working properly. This has raised a question: Why the citizens of the country don’t get premium services? Why the citizens are left to travel in faulty aircrafts? The people of the country contribute towards the growth of the country, but what are they getting in return? It is unfortunate that unfit planes are left for the people of the country. This results in fatal accidents like the one happened yesterday (Dec 7). The passengers on board including children died in the most painful way.

The concerned officials are requested to take this matter and the history of such events seriously, and work for the progress of PIA. Our lives matters, these innocent lives matter.
