The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has announced the results of supplementary examinations for the year for the home economics and humanities groups on Wednesday.
According to the gazette issued on Wednesday, a total of 3,210 candidates registered for humanities (regular) group out of which 3,046 appeared and 41 percent cleared the exams.
Not a single student (both male and female) could not get A-1 grade while only one girl passed with A grades.
The BIEK’s controller of examinations Muhammad Imran Khan Chishti said that 403 male candidates had registered for the exams while 372 appeared out of which 184 managed to pass their supplementary papers. The overall pass percentage was 49.46 percent.
He said 2,807 female students had been registered for the exam out of which 2,674 candidates appeared and 1,067 girl students cleared the exams with the pass percentage being 39.9 percent.
The higher secondary school certificate part-II humanities (regular) and home economics groups’ supplementary examinations commenced from November 18 and continued up to December 18, he added.
According to the controller of examinations, 99 students registered for supplementary papers in home economics group out of which 93 appeared while 35 students managed to pass their exams. The overall pass percentage was 37.63 percent.
He mentioned that students will be able get their marks sheets from their respective colleges after two weeks. “The board office will not issue marks statement to students individually and scrutiny of answer book(s) can be done on payment of prescribed fee along with an application which must be submitted within 40 days of the declaration of result,” he stressed.
