AJK PM stresses better support services for special persons

Says they are integral part of society

MUZAFFARABAD: The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said "special persons" deserve our more attention and care as they are integral part of our society. India had committed crime against humanity by using pellet guns to suppress the resistant movement in occupied Kashmir.

Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the "International Day of the persons with disabilities" here at Narul Cricket Stadium on Saturday, the prime minister emphasised on more jobs opportunities and better support services for the persons with disabilities in the country. He said the government would provide every possible available resource for the betterment of the persons with disabilities. He said that special persons deserve better living conditions and education facilities and Pakistan Muslim League government would ensure the provision of these facilities to them.

The prime minister condemned the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and said the puppet administration had waged a war against youth of the territory. He said, "by using violence and torture as weapon Indian forces during raids harass youth on one pretext or the other.

"Thousands of Kashmiris are with disabilities due to use of pellet guns and shelling on unarmed Kashmiri youth by occupation forces, "he said.

The AJK prime minister urged the UN Secretary General to take serious steps for resolving the Kashmir dispute instead of just expressing concern over the tense situation on the Line of Control (LoC) between Pakistan and India.

He said the amicable settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people and UN resolutions, it would not only normalise ties between the two nuclear neighbours but would also bring peace and prosperity in entire South Asia.

Minister for Social Welfare Noreen Arif, Secretary Red Crescent AJK Yasir Manzoor and Secretary Social Welfare Department Bashir Mughal also addressed the ceremony. Minister for Works Ch Aziz and Secretary Department of Sports and Culture Raja Abbas were also present on the occasion.
