SALU celebrates Culture Day
SUKKUR: Culture Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and fervor at the Shah Abdul Latif University in Khairpur.
The day was organized by the Employees Welfare Association of the university at the Central Lawn of the administration block. On this occasion, a Cultural Awareness Rally was taken out from the administration block to the Kojhi Hall led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah.
Prof. Shah also planted a sapling at the lawn of the Kojhi Hall. Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah appreciated the endeavors of Sindhi media for organizing cultural events across the province.
The vice chancellor said, “It is the need of the hour that we must shun our petty differences, avoid personal biases and prejudices so our institution could flourish in an environment of peace, love and harmony.”
Meanwhile, a Malh Competition was also held. Babu Sheed from Lasbela (Balochistan), Nazeer Bhatti from Shahdadkot, Babu Bhatti from Karachi and Ali Nawaz Maitlo, Nazar Ali, Aqeel Maitlo and Nasrullah from Khairpur participated in the competition. Ali Nawaz Maitlo secured the first position and won a cash prize of Rs15,000. Nazeer Bhatti and Aqeel Maitlo secured the second and the third positions respectively.
