Islamabad: Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Sajid Kiani has directed to register a case against two police officials for allegedly minting money from a woman and keeping his nephew in habeas corpus, police spokesman said.
He said that Nasir Shehzad was coming to Islamabad from Bhara Kahu with his family on November 13 when he was stopped by two police officials at Kashmir Chowk. They searched the vehicle and kept cousin of Nasir Shehzad in illegal detention besides snatching 100 dollars from his aunt.
Following this episode, Nasir Shehzad approached Secretariat Police Station and case was registered against constables Mudassir and Wadood.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani said that strict action would be taken against black sheep bringing bad name for the department. He said that no one is above law and policy of merit would be followed during handling of cases.
He said that strict accountability system would be maintained in the department and any police official involved in dereliction of duties would face disciplinary action.
He also directed the police officials to ensure early investigation of cases following policy of merit and transparent investigation.
