Banker booked for fraud

JHANG: Kotwali police on Saturday booked a banker for allegedly misappropriate Rs 20 million.
The administration of the bank filed an application stating that accused bank manager Sahir Firdousi by misusing his official capacity and with fake entries in different accounts allegedly misappropriate Rs 20 million and fled. The Kotwali police SHO Mian Abid first refused to lodge an FIR against the bank manager and said that it was a domain of some federal government agency as bank was a financial institution. However, later, on the application of Operation Manager of the bank Tanveer Ahmed, Kotwali police registered an FIR 865/16 under sections 420, 468, 471 and 409 of PPC against accused bank manager Sahir Firdousi. Meanwhile, DPO Humayun Masood has directed the Kotwali police to take necessary action according to law and reject any pressure during the case investigation.
