DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf has awarded punishment including dismissal from service, suspension, demotion and censure to 39 officials including six SHOs and two ASIs during Orderly Room on Thursday.
According to a handout, the DIG dismissed two ASIs and one constable, suspended six SHOs, one constable and one clerk, censured six SHOs, two ASIs and one clerk, demoted an inspector and one sub-inspector, stopped increment of four SHOs, three ASIs, two constables, one clerk and one junior-clerk and fined two sub-inspectors, one TASI and one junior-clerk for corruption, misuse of their authority, misbehaviour with citizens and indiscipline.
During the Orderly Room, the DIG Operations issued orders for dismissal of ASI Walait Ali and Constable Muhammad Riaz, reversion of Inspector Amjad Ali to sub-inspector and a sub-inspector to ASI, censure Inspector Amjad Ali, Ghulam Dastagir, Atif Miraj, Kamran Zaman, Mustaneer Ahmad, Tahir Mehmood and ASI Rashi Mehmood, Naveed-ul-Hassan and clerk Sohail Yousaf, suspension of Inspector Amjad Ali, Ghulam Dastagir, Ayaz Ahmad, ASI Ghulam Rasool, Rashid Maqsood, TASI Naseer Ahmad, Constables Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Usman, clerk Sohail Yousaf and junior-clerk Muhammad Saqib and fine to SI Akhtar Hussain, Sikandar Hayat and Constable Muhammad Alyas of Rs 5,000 each and Rs 15,000 to junior-clerk Muhammad Saqib.
DIG said there was no room for dishonest, incompetent and lethargic officials in the Police Department.
