In the umpteenth incident to have been reported in this year, another young woman fell prey to her husband’s violent temper following a domestic dispute, in their residence situated in Baldia Town, on Wednesday, reported officials of the Ittehad Town police station.
According to SHO Shakeel Sherwani, 22-year-old Yasmeen was shot dead by her husband, Naseem, after he came back home from work.
The couple had gotten married six years ago, and a five-year-old daughter. The police further informed that Naseem was an employee of a local hotel.
The husband had apparently gone out to run some errand after coming back home from work, however, the couple were said to have entered into an argument after he got back home, the police added.
The woman’s body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for a post-mortem, where it was confirmed that she had received two bullets, fired from a 30 bore pistol, to her upper torso.
The woman originally hailed from Buner, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was also a maternal cousin of the man. The police claimed they were on the lookout for Naseem. Further investigations are underway.
