Saad asks JUP to help defuse political tension
LAHORE: PML-N central leader and Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that Jamait Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) has always played a historic role in promotion of democracy and they should take notice of the threats regarding shutting down of the Capital and help defuse the political tension. The PML-N leader visited the JUP leadership in Lahore. JUP President Pir Aijaz Hashmi and Secretary General Awais Noorani said that JUP would not allow anyone to derail democracy. They said that it was responsibility of every political party and every political leader to respect the parliament, constitution and judiciary.
Earlier, the federal minister chaired a meeting of Pakistan Railways Freight Transport Company and directed that the progress on the Sahiwal Power Project be accelerated. PRFTC MD Zafar Zamaan Ranjha briefed the minister.
