MANSEHRA: The police have arrested a man who had allegedly injured sensitive body parts of his wife in the garb of honour in Rasheeda area of Oghi tehsil.
According to the police, the suspect Ali Mohammad took the victim to Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad after excessive bleeding and told doctors that the victim was injured accidently by a mirror.
The police at the hospital arrested the suspect and handed him over to Oghi police.
“This is a strange case in my life. When we approached the father of the woman, he registered first information report (FIR) against his son-in-law,” station house officer (SHO) Oghi Police Station, Mohammad Javed Khan, told reporters.
He said after registration of the case the accused was produced in a court of law.
SHO Muhammad Javed said the suspect confessed to have committed the crime. “He said he found his wife talking to someone on cellular phone and wanted to divorce her but she sought pardon. The accused at this stage committed the crime against his wife,” the police official explained.
He said the condition of the injured woman was still serious in the hospital but her life has been saved.
“We have also recovered a dagger used in the crime by the suspect,” he added.
