I neither know PTI sit-in aims nor was consulted: Qadri
LONDON: PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said he doesn’t oppose the PTI protest against the government in Islamabad.
Talking to the media at the Heathrow Airport on Friday, he said the PTI didn’t consult him over its protest plan. He said he was unaware of the PTI sit-in’s objectives, adding that he supported the PTI campaign and opposed the incumbent rulers. The National Assembly had become deaf and dumb. The state institutions could do nothing against the rulers.
He said there was a monarchy in the country and democracy didn’t exist. “There is no hope for justice for the Model Town martyrs in the presence of the existing rulers,” he said. The PAT chief said his party had not yet announced the second phase of its campaign for justice for its martyrs’ blood.
According to earlier reports, Qadri has decided to raise the Model Town killings issue before the European Union. He arrived in London to discuss the matter with legal experts, sources said.
