KARACHI: The Chairman of Paksarzameen Pakistan (PSP) party, Mustafa Kamal, has demanded a joint investigation team (JIT) and a judicial commission for all the allegations made against him by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad.

Addressing a press conference at his office on Thursday, Mustafa said he will fully cooperate with the JIT. He said all the allegations made by Ebad against him, particularly the corruption charges, are baseless and unfounded.

Mustafa claimed that the Baldia factory fire plan was made at the Sindh Governor House. He claimed that the owners of Baldia factory fire were arrested and the governor made a settlement with them. He asked as to why Ebad had failed to arrest and hang the culprits of Baldia factory fire.

Mustafa further said that the governor in his talkshows yesterday threatened to hang him in the May 12 case. He said the Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhtar was the home minister at that time and his name was also in the JIT of the Baldia factory incident.

Mustafa said the Sindh governor be arrested and his name be put on the Exit Control List as he had a UK passport. Online adds: PSP chief Mustafa Kamal on Thursday alleged that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad was the brain behind the May 12 massacre. “I have video evidence where the governor is confessing that he knows about the massacre that will take place on May 12. Why did you not resign from the governor’s position when you knew so many people will get killed?” he said during a press conference.

In a series of serious allegations hurled against Ebad, Kamal said the Governor’s House was the command and control room for the May 12, 2007 massacre where a number of people were killed and over a hundred injured.

The controversial governor broke his silence over the May 12 incident after 12 years, Kamal remarked, asserting he did not fear anyone except Almighty Allah.

He claimed that the people of Karachi were bringing forth evidence proving bribe allegations against Ebad, taunting him as ‘Rishwat-ul-Ebad’. He added that the governor was not harming him but the Mohajir community in Sindh.

He denied the allegations levelled against him by the governor, saying he did not transfer any funds from Karachi to Malaysia and London. Kamal demanded action against the governor for allegedly tampering with the JIT report on the May 12 carnage. He alleged that Ebad was trying to hide behind former Karachi Nazim Naimatullah,

Kamal said that the governor and the MQM founder were a nuisance for the country.  Our correspondent adds: A spokesman for the Sindh Governor House refuted the renewed allegations of serious nature leveled against Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan by former City Nazim and Chairman Pak Sarzameen Party Mustafa Kamal. The spokesman termed the allegations totally fabricated, baseless and false.

In a handout issued on Thursday, the spokesman for Sindh Governor House said Governor Dr Ebad had been discharging his responsibilities with the best of his abilities and would continue to do so for maintenance of law and order situation and for ensuring completion of welfare and development projects in the province.

The spokesman said the Sindh governor had complete resolve to bring to its logical end the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi, which had been continuing under the countrywide Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists. He said the targeted operation would continue till elimination of criminals and indiscriminate action was being ensured against criminal elements.
